Production Process

Michter's takes its standard US*1 Kentucky Straight Rye whiskey, which has been aged in fire-charred new American white oak barrels, and transfers it to a second, custom-made barrel for an additional period of maturation.

Second Barrel: The finishing barrel is made from new American white oak staves that have been air-dried for 24 months and then toasted to Michter's specifications, not charred.
